Let me start by saying that I think these are a good product. I think that they've only failed because of my use case.
I tried these as an alternative to traditional dammits for my uniform, as I was tired of them coming loose and having my name plate or insignia dangling. These worked great as an alternative - I've never had one come loose at work. However, I think that the constant rubbing of the clutch against my vest (law enforcement) must be working the cap loose. Three times I've had the cap pop off. And once the cap is off, it becomes very, very difficult to get the body of the clutch to release. As you can see in my photo, I actually wound up ripping a post off in the process.
Again, I think this is a great product, and that's why I'm still rating it highly - I don't blame the manufacturer here. I think it's just the nature of the mechanism that's at fault.

They are very secure and keep my pins on well. I would recommend these if you want to make sure you don’t lose any of your pins!

I started looking for pins after one of my limited-edition Fire Emblem: Three Houses pins decided to fall off my jacket between when I confirmed it was there one morning and when I found it wasn't the next.
After some searching, I came across an article detailing why the rubber backing that came with it was forever doomed to fail, and why these deluxe pin locks would be better. Weeks later I can say with certainty that these locks are far sturdier and more secure than any other lock I have. I had some pins that I wanted to put on a leather shoulder strap. The normal clasp backs that came with the pins wouldn't work because of the thickness of the material and the small amount of the post left remaining on the back. These locking backs were able to latch onto the post, lock shut, and hold the pins securely. Perfect fix.

Bought these locking backs for the award pins my daughter receives to put on her high school letterman jacket. The standard backs these pins come with are not reliable and the suggestion from her peers and even the spirit wear shop to Super Glue the backs was not an acceptable option for me. I have been able to tightly secure these locking backs and believe they will hold up.
